Give it a try and let us know what you think at www.beerexplorationjournal.com. In the Netherlands, there are these delicious cookies called pepernoten that appear during the Sinterklaas celebration. They posses the flavor of deeply-caramelized sugar and are scented with a blend of exotic spices. They are the best! Pepernoten Porter is a robust porter brewed with a blend of roasted malts and flavored with spices found in pepernoten cookies: cinnamon, ginger, coriander, nutmeg, cardamom, star anise and black pepper. The beer has the added complexity of SuCaNat sugar, which is full of caramel and molasses notes. This exclusive is fermented with a unique Belgian ale strain for greater depth of character and a bittersweet, off-dry finish.
